Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening trilateral tourism cooperation through the shared vision of “One Journey, Three Destinations” for the mutual benefit of the three countries and their peoples.

The commitment was made at the 1st Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam (CLV) Tourism Ministers’ Meeting, held on Aug. 26 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, on the sidelines of the 20th International Travel Expo Ho Chi Minh City (ITE-HCMC 2026).

H.E. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism of Cambodia, led a high-level delegation from the Ministry of Tourism to the historic meeting, which brought together tourism ministers and senior officials from the three countries.

The meeting was attended by H.E. Lam Thi Phuong Thanh, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam, and H.E. Suanesavanh Vignaket, representative of the Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism of Laos.

The first ministerial-level gathering marked an important milestone in the longstanding cooperation among Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam, while reflecting the spirit of the initiative promoted by Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet and strongly supported by the leaders of the two neighbouring countries.

It also built on the consensus reached at the 1st CLV Trilateral Working Meeting during the ASEAN Tourism Forum 2026, where the three sides agreed to elevate tourism cooperation from the technical to the ministerial level.

During the meeting, the three countries officially agreed to establish the CLV Tourism Ministers’ Cooperation Mechanism to facilitate, strengthen and expand cooperation in the tourism sector.

They also adopted the Joint Action Plan on CLV Tourism Cooperation for 2026–2028, outlining six priority areas.

These include developing and connecting joint tourism products; facilitating travel and strengthening transport connectivity among the three countries; jointly promoting and branding CLV destinations under the vision of “One Journey, Three Destinations”; building the capacity of tourism officials; promoting sustainable tourism development; and strengthening cooperation with international partners.

Under the joint vision, the three countries agreed to promote integrated tour packages covering destinations across Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam, facilitate cross-border travel, improve transport connectivity and jointly market the three destinations to attract more international and regional visitors.

The initiative is expected to contribute to increased tourist flows while strengthening broader cooperation in tourism, trade and investment, creating practical and mutually beneficial opportunities for the three countries and their peoples.

The three sides reaffirmed their commitment to working closely together to translate the agreed action plan into concrete outcomes and further enhance the CLV region as an attractive and interconnected tourism destination.
