Cambodia Commends Malaysia’s Role in Promoting Regional Peace and Stability
AKP Phnom Penh, August 3, 2026 --
Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation H.E. Prak Sokhonn paid a courtesy call on Malaysian Prime Minister Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim on Monday during his official visit to Malaysia and co-chairmanship of the 3rd Cambodia-Malaysia Joint Commission for Bilateral Cooperation (JCBC).
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, during the meeting, H.E. Deputy Prime Minister conveyed warmest regards and best wishes from Samdech Akka Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate, and Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, to Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim on the auspicious occasion of his upcoming birthday.
H.E. Deputy Prime Minister also expressed Cambodia's deep appreciation for Malaysia's active role in promoting lasting regional peace and stability, particularly on the Cambodia-Thailand border issues, through the establishment of the Kuala Lumpur Peace Accord and the ASEAN Observer Team (AOT).
As Cambodia and Malaysia look forward to commemorating the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2027, Cambodia stands ready to work closely with Malaysia to further strengthen their partnership, contributing to peace, stability, and prosperity in ASEAN.
