AKP Phnom Penh, June 29, 2026 --
Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) President Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen has warmly welcomed the strengthening ties between Cambodia and Azerbaijan, responding to a congratulatory message from the New Azerbaijan Party (YAP) on the CPP’s 75th anniversary.
In a letter to YAP Deputy Chairman H.E. Tahir Budagov, Samdech Techo Hun Sen expressed deep gratitude for the goodwill extended to the ruling party on its historic milestone. He underscored that the enduring friendship between the two nations rests on mutual respect, shared interests, and steadily expanding bilateral cooperation.
Beyond direct ties, Samdech Hun Sen noted that the relationship between the two parties has matured through active engagement in multilateral platforms such as the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP), Centrist Democrat International (CDI), the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), and various inter-parliamentary networks.
These forums, he said, have been vital for deepening political dialogue, strategic coordination, and mutual understanding.
Expressing confidence in the future of the partnership, Samdech Techo Hun Sen affirmed that the growing friendship would continue to yield meaningful collaboration across multiple fronts. He concluded by wishing H.E. Tahir Budagov good health and success, and extended his best wishes for the prosperity of the Azerbaijani people.
The exchange reflects a shared commitment from both ruling parties to elevate political dialogue and cooperation—bilaterally and on the global stage.
